FAQ

How do I book a photo session with you?

Booking a session with me is simple and easy! Just reach out via Instagram or the contact section on this website, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible with the invoice and contract. Once the deposit is paid, your session is officially secured. Then, all that’s left to do is get excited and ready for a fun, relaxed, and memorable photography experience!

Why are sessions priced the way they are?

I completely understand—booking a session is an investment, and I don’t take that lightly. I approach each session as more than just photography—it’s a creative collaboration. I spend hours crafting, capturing, and editing so that your experience and images feel meaningful. This means I may not be the best fit if you’re simply looking for the lowest price.

What you’re paying for is more than just the hour I spend taking your photos. It includes planning your session, thoughtful communication, editing each image with care, and the time spent away from my own little one (often needing childcare to show up fully for yours). It also covers equipment, software, backup systems, ongoing education, and the heart I pour into making this experience meaningful and personal. You're not just hiring someone with a camera—you're inviting someone into your real life, your story. And I honor that deeply.

If my work speaks to you, let’s chat—we can explore your budget and make it work.

How long does it take to get our photos?

The turnaround time depends on the package, but on average, 30-40 photos take about two weeks to be delivered. I’ll keep you updated throughout the process so you know when to expect your final images!

Do you pose us or prompt us during session?

My style leans more documentary—I focus on capturing real, authentic moments. I’ll gently guide you with simple prompts—mostly through movement and interaction—so you can relax and enjoy the moment. Think of it as a fun family date, with me there to catch all the little stories as they happen.

Do you photoshop us?

I don’t do heavy retouching or change who you beautifully are. My goal is to capture real moments and real people, so the photos reflect you just as you are. I may do minor adjustments for color, lighting, or removing small distractions in the background, but I won't photoshop body shape, lips, hair, or anything that changes who you are.

Do I pay deposit?

Yes, you will pay a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure your spot.

Do you travel?

Yes! I love traveling for sessions and capturing stories in new places. Travel may involve an additional fee depending on distance, and I’m happy to discuss the details with you so we can make it work.

I currently go back and forth between NYC and Sacramento. Please follow me on Instagram for updates.

Do you do mini sessions?

With a few rare exceptions, I don’t. I like to take the time to really get to know my families, and that connection is an important part of my process. My sessions are designed to capture real, meaningful moments, so I focus on full sessions rather than short mini sessions.
